FCCLA Purpose

Organized instruction relating to the mission is part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education program in schools. The purposes of the organization shall be as follows:

1. To provide opportunities for personal development and preparation for adult life.

2. To strengthen the function of the family as a basic unit of society.

3. To encourage democracy through cooperative action in the home and community.

4. To encourage individual and group involvement in helping achieve global cooperation and harmony.

5. To promote greater understanding between youth and adults.

6. To provide opportunities for making decisions and for assuming responsibilities .

7. To prepare for the multiple roles of men and women in today's society.

8. To promote Family and Consumer Sciences and related ossupations.

Fundraiser: We sell Roses to support the Ronald McDonald House, Poinsettias for Adopt-a-Family, Pie Peddler to support our activites. Gingerbread House Family Night: A national "Families First' project... Childern and their parents make a gingerbread house to take home.   State Leadership Conference: Members will attend the State Confeerence in Columbus, April 18-20, 2012.
FREEDOM(FCCLA Recognizing the Endless Efforts of Dedicated Ohio Military) Members Trick-or-Treat for Troops. Collect supplies sent to the US Troops in Afghanistan.   P.O.W.E.R( Preserving Our World's Environmental Resources) Our Chapter recycles high schools paper and plastic bottles weekly. Regional STAR Events: Is to be held at Fort Recovery High School March 3, 2012. Twenty-two Ft. Recovery Chapter. National Leadership Meeting:Ashley Homan and ALexis Schmitz' project, Food Innovation, recevied the top score in Ohio, allowing them to compete in national competition July 6-14th in Antheim, California.
