The Longest Day, January 13th, 2018, Worthington Kilbourne vs. Fort Recovery
  • On Saturday January 13th, Fort Recovery High School will host Worthington Kilbourne High School in boys basketball.  Kilbourne is coached by Tom Souder.  Tom is the son of former Fort Recovery Indians boys basketball coach Al Souder who won the schools 1st OHSAA State Championship in 1970-1971.  Coach Souder has been battling Alzheimers and both schools will be playing for more than just a victory Saturday night.  The two schools and communities will join together for an Alzheimers benefit called The Longest Day.
The Longest Day is all about love. Love for all those affected by Alzheimers disease. On Saturday January 13th team up with the Alzheimers Association Fort Recovery Schools and Worthington Kilbourne Schools for a great cause and enjoy the sport that has meant so much to the Souder family while also helping end Alzheimers. Together, we will raise funds and awareness for care and support while advancing research toward the first survivor of Alzheimers.
Admission at the boys basketball game will be free of charge.  However donations will be accepted at the gate in honor of Al Souder and the Souder familys Longest Day Benefit.  In addition to the Alzheimers benefit, we will be honoring Al Souder in between the JV and Varsity basketball games.
