Other district testing
Elementary:
Aimsweb testing in reading, math and writing-benchmark all elementary students 3x’s a year and provide interventions if needed
KRA-Kindergarten readiness assessment-given to all Kindergarteners, required by the state to measure their progress in reading, math, science, social studies and social (observations by teacher)
Cogat-an IQ test given to all 2nd grade students in the fall. Students who receive a score of 120 or higher are referred for additional testing to identify if they have gifted ability areas.
Terra Nova-additional testing if students scored a 120 or higher on the Cogat. Measures specific areas of reading and math. The Terra Nova is also an alternate reading assessment used for the 3rd grade reading guarantee. If 3rd grade students do not pass the reading score on the AIR state assessment, they can take this as an alternate reading test for the guarantee to move onto 4th grade.
High School:
PSAT-given to juniors who sign up to take the test during the fall. Students taking the PSAT are competing for the National Merit Scholarship.
Americanism Test-given to all sophomores, juniors, and seniors on election day. Students are competing with all other 10-12 graders in Ohio for county and state awards.
AP-given to students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses. Scoring well on AP tests will allow students to skip lower level courses in college.
