Wooden coins will be sold next week, May 2-9th, to help celebrate Fort Recovery’s 225 celebration this summer. They will be available on Main Street from 7:45-8:15AM and during MS lunch from 11:30-12:00. Each coin is 0.50

Attention students: don’t forget about Fort Recovery’s 225th commemoration this summer which runs from June 12-19, 2016. There are many activities planned throughout the week, but here are some especially for the students:

1. Fort Recovery Drama-the drama covering the history of Fort Recovery from the battles all the way to 2016 will be presented on June 12th, 13th & 14th at 9 pm in Ambassador Park on the track. You can be a part of the drama by contacting Judy Wood or Julie Kahlig. Their contact information is on our website at www.fr225.com.

2. The Ag Olympics will be at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, June 15th at the track as well.

3. Following the Ag Olympics will be a Scavenger Hunt around Fort Recovery. You must have an adult 18 years or older on your team to participate.

4. For our 5th graders-a youth reenactment will be performed at the Amphitheatre on Thursday, June 16th at 5:30 pm.

5. Fireworks will be presented on Friday, June 17th at 10 pm at Ambassador Park during the Jubilee

6. A fastest texting contest will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 18th at the Jubilee as well. You can sign up that day. The age categories are:

14 and under, 15-19 years old, 20-30 years old, 31 and over

There will be an award to the top person in each age group and the person who texts the fastest overall.

7. Kiddie Day is Saturday, June 18th and the rides are open at the Jubilee from Thursday to Sunday that weekend.

These are just a few of the many activities planned during the week of the 225th commemoration of Fort Recovery! We hope to see you there!

Attention all students: For your safety you are not allowed to play football on the blacktop. Football is only to be played on the grass. When the grass is to muddy you may play Jackpot or $5.00 on the black top.

There are 4-H camp forms in the office for anyone age 9-13 who is interested. You do not have to be a 4-H member in order to attend. There are two camps: June 7th-10th and June 13th-16th.

Good Character Trait of the week: Teamwork

This year we are focusing on what I call the 6 pillars of character. They are:

Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship

You can view these character words on banners hanging from Main Street. We expect that you will treat the banners with respect by not touching them.

Have a great day!
