Welcome to Fort Recovery Elementary

"Better Today Than You Were Yesterday.

Better Tomorrow Than You Were Today.”

From preschool through grade five, Fort Recovery Elementary has a population of approximately 495 students. We are the next best thing to a family. Our school is a welcoming place for children and adults where we want our students to be successful academically, socially and emotionally. Fort Recovery Elementary, the Fort Recovery School District and our Fort Recovery Community have a common goal-to do what it best for all of our students.

We set high academic standards for our students. Our faculty works very hard to ensure that each child is working to their ability through differentiated activities. Our goal is for all children to become independent readers, writers and thinkers. Our academic areas cover language arts, math, science, and social studies. We offer art, music, physical education and a technology class to all students.  Book Club and student council are offered in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. 5th grade students also have the opportunity to participate in band. All of our classrooms have interactive whiteboards which are implemented daily as well as 1:1 chromebooks for grades 3-4-5 and iPads in grades PK-2.

Our preschool program is a 5-star rated program based on meeting the preschool early literacy standards and exceeding the health and safety licensing requirements set by Step up to Quality through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Department of Education.

Fort Recovery Elementary places a great deal of emphasis on the students taking responsibility for their words and actions. Character education is discussed in the classrooms, focusing on the R factor and what it means to have Above the Line behavior.

Parents are also involved in the elementary school through the PTO, PAC and support our fundraisers during the school year. In addition, they along with community members also volunteer in our classrooms, helping students on a daily basis.

It is our hope that each child has the best school experience possible. We hope that our parents and community members work with us as we nurture and education our students. Please take time to visit your child’s classroom and be an active part of his or her education. I am proud to the principal of a wonderful school with great staff and students. Thank you! for trusting us with your children.
